I have a MA in communication (not “communications”!) and I am currently working as an Internet communication consultant. My interests run towards the political economy of the media–what you might call the business of the media. Lately I have been interested in the branding of media and the way corporate media is branding its product, much the way Proctor and Gamble might brand soap. And if I keep digging, the question that I return to is “what role is the Internet playing in media branding.”

If you search my name (Weye) on Google, you’ll find that I appear second in the listings, after the radio station WEYE 104.3 FM in Surgoinsville, TN (“Heaven’s music for the Tri-Cities – Solid Gospel”). One of my goals is to usurp the gospel station in the Google rankings, proving that I am the real king.

Some gaming geeks also think Weye is a little village in some place called “Oblivion”, which is part of the Elder Scrolls. Aparently Weye is at the west end of the Imperial City bridge; it’s so small that Weye has only a fisherman’s house and the Wawnet Inn (sounds like a real drag!).

I am also interested in digital photography, swimming, cynicism, biking and Web design.
